New Website and Blog

Welcome to Iowa Federation of Families For Children’s Mental Health (IFFCMH) new blog. We are just getting started with blogging so please be patient with us. We decided to start this blog as we are launching our new website at iffcmh.org. This is an entirely redesigned and user friendly site that we are hoping will be a resource for families, youth and professionals.

The mission of IFFCMH is:

To link families to community, county and state partners for needed supports and services; and to promote systems change that will enable families to live in a safe, stable and respectful environment.

This mission will be accomplished by empowering families through:

Information Dissemination
Information and Referral Services
Mentoring
Advocacy Training
Educating Legislators

This new blog is one way that we are hoping to further achieve our mission for families in Iowa. This blog will be updated on the 2nd and 4th Fridays of each month in conjunction with our newsletter. Upcoming topics will include: drugs and mental health, Mental Health and Disability Redesign 2011, achieving partnerships between families and schools and Children’s Mental Health Week.
